Abstract A collection of Australian theatre, opera and musical playbills, programs, publicity posters and associated materials collected by Lex Marinos.

Scope and Content

A significant collection of 445 items including theatre, opera and musical programs, publicity posters, together with magazines, song sheets, FM radio magazines and a football magazine. The collection dates from 1960 to 1977, and relates principally to Sydney, Perth and Melbourne theatres and performances there.

The programs appear in a wide variety of styles, from single sheet stencilled form to elaborate large sized coloured productions. The programs and posters have been arranged in alphabetically order by production.

The collection provides information and insights not easily acquired elsewhere concerning the growth and activities of Australian Theatre in an important period. Names frequently appear in early productions of young writers, actors, directors and singers who later became famous in the theatre and other fields.
